WHAT WE FUND

We strive to provide support that can serve as a catalyst and multiply our impact. We only provide funding to nonprofit organizations in good standing, government agencies, and educational institutions; we do not provide funding to individuals. The Trust does not accept unsolicited grant proposals.

HUMAN/SOCIAL SERVICES FOCUS

We fund organizations that support individuals and communities in need. That includes, but is not limited to, groups that provide health care and healthcare support services, shelter, food security, disability services, support to veterans, early childhood development, educational access, services for youth in foster care, support for youth sports, emergency services, disaster relief, and social services. Our human services support is generally focused on communities in Minnesota and North Dakota; however, our disaster relief support spans much of the U.S.

CONSERVATION FOCUS

We look for opportunities to partner with organizations to implement management practices and conservation of important habitats to benefit waterfowl populations. Investing in healthy habitats for waterfowl also benefits other wildlife populations. Communities that share those spaces also benefit through public use of those landscapes. With our focus on the midcontinent region of the U.S. (the Central Flyway and western portions of the Mississippi Flyway, with special emphasis on the Prairie Pothole Region), we seek ways to enhance areas where agriculture and conservation can come together.

We hope to be a leader by partnering with organizations to find innovative solutions to support waterfowl habitat conservation, population management, and public use. These actions to support breeding, nesting, migration, and wintering habitats for waterfowl also support a myriad of other wildlife populations and their use by the public. To a lesser extent, we also support research and education to further understand effects of habitat conservation and overall management of waterfowl populations.
